Accessories
Scope accessories and binocular gear live here: chest harnesses from ALPS OutdoorZ and Athlon, Athlon sunshades, a binocular tripod adapter, a tripod saddle and a replacement 22x eyepiece for the Ares G2 spotting scope. Harnesses are the easy pick. Sunshades, eyepieces and saddles are built for specific optics, so check the fit notes on the product page against the glass you already own before you add one to the cart.

Binocular harnesses
A neck strap is fine for a walk to the stand. After a few miles of hiking, a pair of 10x42s swinging off your neck gets old, and binoculars left banging against a pack frame pick up scratches. A chest harness holds the glass flat against your sternum, keeps it out of the rain and puts it where your hands already are when a deer steps out.
The ALPS OutdoorZ side of this shelf covers a few carry styles: the Shield, the Vantage in Bottomland camo and the Bino Harness X, plus a smaller binocular accessory and the Vision. Athlon has its own binocular harness for hunters already running Athlon glass. If you also carry a hunting rangefinder, look at harness designs with side pockets so both live in the same rig. Hunters who already run a hunting pack should check how the harness straps sit under the shoulder straps before committing.
Model-specific scope accessories
The rest of the shelf is matched to particular optics, and that is where returns happen. Read the compatibility list on each product page before buying.
Athlon sunshades screw onto the objective end of a scope to cut glare when the sun sits low in front of you. Pick the option that matches the objective diameter of your riflescope. The Ares G2 22x eyepiece is a swap-in for Athlon's Ares G2 spotting scope body. The Midas tripod saddle and the binocular tripod adapter are about getting glass onto a tripod head, which matters far more on a long glassing session than most people expect.
There is also a Cronus ATS battery here, a spare for Athlon's Cronus ATS line. If you run that optic in cold weather, a second battery in an inside pocket is cheap insurance.
Building a steadier glassing setup
Handheld binoculars shake. At higher magnification the shake gets worse, and you stop seeing the antler tip or the ear flick that gives an animal away. Putting binoculars or a spotting scope on a tripod fixes most of that. Pair an adapter from this page with one of our tripods, and the same tripod can do double duty at the range.
On the rifle side, a stable rest does the same job for your scope. A rifle bipod and solid 30mm scope rings will do more for your groups than any accessory on the glass itself. Low-light hunters can browse thermal and night vision for spare batteries and power packs from those brands.
Optics Accessories FAQs
Will an Athlon sunshade fit a scope from another brand?
Sometimes. Sunshades thread into the objective bell, and thread sizes vary by maker and model. Check the sizing on the product page against your scope's specifications before ordering.
Do I need a binocular harness if I hunt from a stand?
Not strictly. A harness earns its keep on the walk in and out, and it keeps binoculars quiet and protected once you are up. Stand hunters who climb with gear often find it easier than a neck strap.
How do I mount binoculars on a tripod?
Most binoculars need an adapter that threads into the hinge or clamps the barrels, which then connects to the tripod head. The Athlon binocular tripod adapter here is one option; confirm your binocular has the threaded socket it needs.
