Remington 700 Scope Mounts
Remington 700 scope bases, Picatinny rails and rings from EGW, Talley, Warne, Weaver, Christensen Arms, Bergara and Leupold. Every base lists short action or long action and its MOA cant, from 0 to 20 MOA, so start with your action length. Many of these also fit rifles built on the 700 footprint, like the Bergara B14, and each product name says so.

Short action or long action
The 700 short action and long action receivers have different screw hole spacing, so a base for one will not fit the other. Short actions are typically chambered for cartridges like .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor and .243 Win, and long actions for .30-06, .270 Win and the magnums. Your barrel stamp and owner's manual will tell you which you have.
0, 15 or 20 MOA
A canted base tilts the scope slightly nose down so you have more elevation left in the turret for long shots. EGW offers 700 short action bases in 0, 15 and 20 MOA. Talley, Warne, Christensen Arms, Bergara and Weaver all offer 20 MOA versions. For a hunting rifle you sight in at 100 or 200 yards, 0 MOA is the simple choice.
One-piece rails and two-piece bases
One-piece Picatinny rails from EGW, Talley, Warne, Christensen Arms, Midwest Industries and Bergara give you the most room to set eye relief and the stiffest connection to the action. Talley's Picatinny base lists fit for the Remington 700/721/722/725/40X and Bergara B14. Two-piece bases from Warne, Weaver and Leupold keep weight down and leave the ejection port open. Talley also makes 1 inch and 30mm rings that mount directly to the 700 with no separate base.
Frequently asked questions
Do Remington 700 bases fit a Bergara B14?
Many do. Talley's base and the Bergara rails here list both rifles in the product name. Check the name before you order.
Is a steel or aluminum base better?
Both work. EGW's Steel HD bases are for shooters who want steel, and Talley's aluminum bases save weight on a carry rifle.
Which 700 base should I get for long range?
A one-piece Picatinny rail with 20 MOA of cant is the common setup. Pair it with 30mm or 34mm rings to match your scope.
