Ground Blinds
Ground blinds put you at eye level with the game, hide your movement, and keep the wind and rain off while you wait out the sit. For bowhunters the walls cover the draw that would otherwise get you busted. We stock 26 blinds from Muddy, HME, Alps Outdoorz and Ameristep, with shooting widths from 62 to 88 inches, weights from 12 to 21.5 pounds, and see-through mesh, insulated and bale options for every part of the season.

How to choose a deer hunting ground blind
Shooting width matters more than footprint
Footprint tells you how much floor you get. Shooting width tells you whether you can take the shot. Drawing a bow inside a 55-inch footprint is tighter than the number suggests, so read shooting width first and footprint second. The Muddy Prevue EVO opens 62 inches, which is fine for a rifle and tight for a bow. The Muddy Infinity 3-Person opens 83 inches and leaves room for a hunter, a kid and a pack.
Hub and pop-up blinds
Hub blinds pop open in seconds and pack flat against your back, which makes them the default for hunters who move with the sign. The HME Spring Steel 75 is the easy way in, and the Muddy 250 adds shooting width at 13 pounds. If you plan to carry a blind more than a few hundred yards, weight is the spec that decides whether it gets used.
See-through and shoot-through mesh
Mesh windows let you watch an animal come in without opening a window and showing a silhouette, then take the shot straight through the mesh. The Muddy Prevue 2-Person runs see-through mesh across two panoramic windows, and the Muddy VS360 puts sliding shoot-through mesh on every window for 360-degree viewing.
Insulated blinds for late season
Late-season sits end when you get cold, not when the deer stop moving. An insulated blind holds heat and cuts the wind, which buys you the last hour of light in December. The Muddy Hot Box is a three-man insulated hub, and the Ameristep Inferno XL covers the same job at 11.8 pounds.
Field and bale blinds
Deer that live around farm equipment stop reading it as a threat, which is the whole idea behind a bale blind. The Muddy Bale Blind has a steel frame and reversible windows and is built to sit in one field all fall rather than move with you. For low-profile field work on waterfowl, look at the Alps Outdoorz Deception and the layout and A-frame options in waterfowl blinds.
Camo pattern
Match the pattern to your ground rather than to the season. Timber and field edges favor Mossy Oak Break-Up Country and Veil Cervidae, open grass favors Epic and Canyon Grey, and marsh favors the shadow grass patterns. A black interior matters more than the exterior pattern once you are inside, since it kills the silhouette that gives you away through an open window.
Set it early and brush it in
Deer circle anything new for about a week. Put the blind out a few weeks before you plan to hunt it, pile natural cover against the walls, and it stops registering as new. Stakes and support poles keep it from moving in wind, and they are the difference between a blind that stays put and one you find in the fence row. Scent still leaves the blind, so hunt the wind the same way you would from a stand, and read whether deer can smell you through the walls before you count on the fabric to do that work.

Ground blind FAQs
What size ground blind do I need for bow hunting?
Read shooting width, not footprint. Our lineup runs from 62 to 88 inches of shooting width. Anything at 73 inches or wider gives most bowhunters room to draw sitting down, and the wide models like the Muddy Infinity 3-Person at 83 inches leave room for a second person or a camera arm. A 62-inch blind is comfortable for a rifle and tight for a bow.
What is the difference between a hub blind and a bale blind?
A hub blind pops open in seconds, packs flat and travels with you. A bale blind has a rigid steel frame, looks like farm equipment to deer that live around it, and is meant to sit in one field for the season. Choose a hub if you move with the sign, a bale blind if you hunt the same field all fall.
What is shoot-through mesh, and do I need it?
Shoot-through mesh is a fine screen across the window that you can see and shoot through without opening it. It keeps your silhouette hidden while game comes in, which is the most common way hunters get busted in a blind. The Muddy Prevue line uses see-through mesh on its panoramic windows and the Muddy VS360 uses sliding shoot-through mesh on all windows for 360-degree coverage.
Are insulated ground blinds worth it?
For late-season and cold-weather sits, yes. Insulation holds heat and cuts wind, which is usually what ends a December sit before the deer do. If you only hunt early season, a standard hub blind saves you weight and money.
How much does a ground blind weigh?
Our blinds run from 12 pounds to 21.5 pounds. If you carry a blind any real distance, stay under about 15 pounds. If it lives in the truck or on an ATV, weight matters far less than shooting width and height.
Do ground blinds need to be brushed in?
Yes, and it matters more than the camo pattern. Deer circle anything new for roughly a week. Set the blind out weeks before you hunt it, pile natural cover against the walls, and stake it down so it does not move in wind. See our ground blind setup guide for the full process.
Can two people hunt out of one ground blind?
Two-person models start around a 53 by 53 inch footprint, which is workable for two gun hunters and tight for a bow. If one of you is drawing a bow, or you are taking a kid or a camera, move up to a three-person blind at 58 by 58 inches or larger.
