Vests
A vest is the layer that solves the problem jackets create. It keeps your core warm while your arms stay free to draw a bow, mount a gun, or work a call. On the swing days when morning is 34 degrees and afternoon is 58, a vest is often the only insulation you need.

Pick by how you hunt

Sizing over layers
Buy the vest to fit over what you actually wear underneath in November, not over a t-shirt in the fitting room. Too tight compresses your base layers and kills the loft doing the insulating. Check the armhole cut before you commit, since a vest that binds at the shoulder will fight you at full draw.
