Turkey Vests
A turkey vest is a chair, a call bag and a game carrier you wear, so the first decision is whether you want a built-in seat. The Grand Slam and Impact vests have one; the Traditions strap vest and the Turkey Tracker lumbar system go lighter. ALPS OutdoorZ makes the vests on this shelf, including NWTF editions of two models.

Seat Turkey Vests
The Grand Slam has the "sit anywhere" kickstand frame, a thick padded fold-away seat and a smartphone sleeve. The Impact line uses a flip-down seat on a lighter vest, and the Impact Pro adds a set of upgrades on top of the original. A built-in seat means you can drop against any tree the moment a bird gobbles, which is the whole argument for one. If you hunt from the same spot each morning, a separate low chair from our hunting chairs shelf may sit better than any vest pad.
Fit matters more than pocket count. Spring mornings start cold and end warm, so size the vest to go over a light jacket and still cinch down once you shed it. Load it with your real kit at home, sit on the seat for ten minutes and check that nothing digs into your back before you wear it to a gobbler.
Call Storage That Stays Quiet
Count your calls before you pick a vest. A slate, a box, a few mouth calls, strikers and a locator need separate homes, or they rattle together at the worst moment. The Impact Vest has a dedicated slate call pocket, and the Call/Game Bag Accessory adds pockets for friction calls, strikers, diaphragms, locators and a box call. Restock the pockets from our hunting calls department, and keep spare diaphragms somewhere cool. Hard-body decoys are awkward to carry, and the Higdon X-Slot decoy bag on our hunting backpacks shelf is built around protecting the tail fan.
Lighter Options and the Walk Out
The Turkey Tracker is a hybrid lumbar and fanny pack system for hunters who move a lot. The Vantage Bino Harness is a run-and-gun chest harness with an adjustable fit and padded back panel. When the hunt goes right, the Turkey Tote carries the bird out with a wide padded strap, and the fan can be saved with the tail preservative on our game processing shelf. Round out the kit with hunting binoculars and gloves from hunting hats and gloves. Spring seasons and legal hours vary by state, so check your state wildlife agency before opening day.
Turkey Vest FAQs
Do I need a turkey vest with a seat?
If you set up wherever the bird is, yes. A built-in seat saves carrying a chair. If you hunt from one blind or one tree, a separate chair is usually more comfortable.
What is the difference between the Grand Slam and the Impact?
The Grand Slam uses a kickstand frame with a thick fold-away seat and a phone sleeve. The Impact is a lighter vest with a flip-down seat and call pockets.
What are the NWTF versions?
The Grand Slam and Impact Pro each have an NWTF edition listed separately. The NWTF Impact Pro comes in Greenleaf.
Is the Upland Game Vest a turkey vest?
It is built for wing shooters and small game hunters. It is a good hunting vest for pheasant or rabbits. For turkey, the seat vests above are the better match.
