Game Management
Game management is where the deer hunting supplies for the off-season live: feeders, the timers and batteries that run them, food plot seed and herbicide, flavored attractants, and the lures and cover scents you will want by fall. If you know the job, use the subcategory links under the grid. If you are starting a property from zero, a feeder and a camera are the usual first two purchases.

What Counts as Deer Hunting Supplies Here
This shelf covers the work you do between seasons. It breaks into four jobs, and each has its own page:
| Job | What is on the shelf | Brands |
|---|---|---|
| Feeding | Spin and gravity feeders, hanging and post-mount styles, a bag-style gravity feeder | American Hunter, On Time, Moultrie, Nite Vault, Wildgame Innovations |
| Keeping feeders running | Digital timers, timer kits, photocell kits, batteries, a solar charger, a varmint guard | American Hunter, On Time, Moultrie, Nite Vault |
| Food plots and attractants | Seed blends, herbicide, a soil pH product, flavored attractants | Whitetail Institute, Evolved, Wildlife Research, Wildgame Innovations |
| Scent | Deer lures, estrus and rope scents, cover scents, calming scent | Wildlife Research, ConQuest, Code Blue |
Feeders First, Then the Parts That Keep Them Honest
A feeder is only as reliable as its timer and battery. Spin feeders throw feed on a schedule, so the timer sets when deer show up and the battery decides whether it happens at all. Gravity feeders skip the electronics and let deer eat on their own clock. Pick spin if you want deer moving at shooting light. Pick gravity if you want low maintenance on a property you visit twice a month.
The deer feeders page holds the complete units. Replacement timers, feeder kits and batteries are under feeder parts. Bookmark that page. A timer that quits in October takes the schedule down with it.
Food Plot Supplies and Attractants
Whitetail Institute carries most of the food plot side, with seed blends, herbicide and a soil pH product. Test soil before you seed. A plot planted in the wrong pH grows weeds very efficiently. For quicker results, flavored attractants from Wildlife Research and Evolved (sweet corn, caramel apple, acorn, molasses) pull deer to a spot while a plot fills in.
Spreading seed by hand gets old after the first half acre. Battenfeld's manual chest spreader and On Time's ATV spreader are both on this page.
Scouting the Spot You Just Built
Once deer are using a feeder or plot, a cellular camera tells you when and which ones without a walk-in. Mount one on the trail leading in and you will learn more than a camera aimed at the feeder itself. The cellular trail cameras page lists what we carry, and the trail camera mounts page has tree mounts, T-post mounts and stakes. When the pattern is set, hang a stand downwind and wear a harness from our treestand safety harnesses shelf. Keep your own scent down with the scent eliminators on the way in.
Game Management FAQs
Is it legal to feed deer where I hunt?
It depends on your state, and some states restrict it by county or around disease zones. Check your state wildlife agency before you set out a feeder, mineral or attractant.
Spin feeder or gravity feeder?
Spin feeders let you schedule feeding times. Gravity feeders are simpler and need no battery. Most people who want deer on camera at legal light go with spin.
When should I plant a food plot?
That depends on the blend and your region. Read the planting window on the seed listing and start with a soil test a few weeks ahead.
