Hunting

This is the main hunting gear shelf at Double D: calls, decoys, archery tackle, broadheads, deer feeders, trail cameras, scents, knives and treestand harnesses, more than 700 products deep. Start with the species and the season, then narrow to the category. The links below the grid jump straight to each section so you are not scrolling through feed bags to find a turkey call.

Hunting Gear by Species

Most hunters shop one animal at a time, so start there. Deer hunters live in three branches: deer feeders and attractants before the season, trail cameras to pattern what shows up, and grunt tubes and bleat cans once the rut starts. Turkey hunters have the deepest call selection we carry, with box calls, pot calls and strikers from Woodhaven, Knight and Hale and Pittman, plus turkey decoys and vests to carry it all.

Elk hunters get bugles and cow calls from Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls and Riven. Predator callers have hand calls from Primos and Haydel's. Waterfowl has its own branch, so if you are here for ducks or geese, the duck hunting gear hub is the faster route.

Bow Hunting Gear and Broadheads

Archery is the largest single branch under hunting. Sights from Trophy Ridge and TruGlo, quivers from Tight Spot, arrows from Victory, and a broadhead wall from Rage, Grim Reaper, Muzzy, G5, Slick Trick, Swhacker and Magnus. Crossbow shooters have a separate shelf of crossbow broadheads, and the bowfishing crowd has AMS, Cajun and TruGlo gear on its own page.

If you are building a setup from scratch, buy in this order: arrows matched to your bow, then broadheads that fly with your field points, then the sight and rest. Practice heads are cheap. Missed shots are not.

Hunting Equipment for the Off-Season

The work that fills tags mostly happens before opening day. Game management covers spin and gravity feeders from American Hunter, On Time, Moultrie and Nite Vault, timers and batteries to keep them running, Whitetail Institute food plot products, and flavored attractants. Pair that with a cellular camera and you can watch what a feeder pulls in without walking in and leaving scent on the trail.

Scent control sits close by. Wildlife Research, ConQuest and Code Blue cover lures and cover scents, and the scent eliminators shelf has the sprays and soaps for your end of the wind.

Hunting Accessories That Ride in the Pack

Some gear goes on every hunt regardless of species. A knife you trust (Case, Old Timer, Schrade and Smith & Wesson are all here), a sharpener to keep it that way, a pack with room for both, and a seat for the long sits. The hunting chairs and hunting packs shelves carry the bulk of it. After the shot, the game processing tools take over.

Hunting from height means a harness first. Our treestand safety harnesses come from Hunter Safety System, Muddy and Summit in several sizes.

Hunting Gear FAQs

What hunting gear should a new deer hunter buy first?

Whatever puts you legally and safely in the field: your weapon, required hunter orange, a knife and a way to get the deer out. Calls, cameras and feeders come after that. Check your state wildlife agency for orange and license requirements.

Where are scopes, rangefinders and binoculars?

Optics sit under the shooting branch. The hunting optics page covers riflescopes, binoculars, rangefinders and thermal.

Where are the duck and goose products?

Some decoys live here under hunting, but waterfowl calls, layout blinds, waders and blind bags are under the waterfowl branch.

Can I use feeders and attractants where I hunt?

That depends on your state and sometimes your county. Baiting and feeding rules change, so confirm with your state wildlife agency before you put anything out.
