Picatinny rail or tip-off base
A Picatinny rail is the most flexible option on a 10/22. It takes Picatinny or Weaver-style rings for a scope, or a red dot directly, and it gives you plenty of slots to set eye relief. EGW's 10/22 base comes in 0 MOA and 20 MOA, plus silver versions for stainless guns. The Midwest Industries and Talley rails are other Picatinny choices, and TruGlo's mounting adapter gives you a Picatinny/Weaver top as well.
Weaver's .22 tip-off bases go the other way, giving you a 3/8" dovetail on top so you can run classic rimfire rings. Weaver's top mount bases and multi-slot base #430T take Weaver-style rings.
Ring and base in one
Talley's 10/22 ring/base combo is the clean way to go if you want a 1 inch scope low and tight with no separate base. It comes in low and medium heights. Weaver's See-Thru Steel Lock rings for the 10/22 let you look under the scope at the iron sights.
Standard or Takedown
Check your model before you order. EGW lists the 10/22 Takedown as its own base, in black and in silver. If the product name does not mention Takedown, it is for the standard receiver.
