Picatinny Risers
Picatinny risers raise your optic on the rail so it lines up with your eye, your iron sights, or both. Choose from TruGlo risers in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" rise, Yankee Hill Machine mini risers and rail extensions, KDG SideLok universal risers and Warne's MSR riser for Aimpoint red dots. For full mounts with rings built in, see cantilever and one-piece mounts.

Why add a riser
On an AR or any rifle with a straight stock, the optic often sits too low for a comfortable head position. A riser lifts it so you can see through the optic with your head up. Risers also help a red dot co-witness with iron sights, or clear a larger objective lens or a rail-mounted accessory.
How much rise
TruGlo's one-piece and two-piece risers come in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" rise. Two-piece risers go under each ring and are listed at 1.36" long. One-piece risers are listed at 4" long and keep everything on one rail. KDG's SideLok universal riser comes in short and long. Measure what you have now and what you need before choosing.
Rail extensions and offsets
Yankee Hill Machine's risers come in lengths from a 3/4" mini to a 6" rail extension riser, handy when your rings need more room front to back. TruGlo also makes a 45 degree offset riser for mounting a backup red dot at an angle alongside a scope.
Frequently asked questions
Do risers work with Weaver rings?
The risers here have a Picatinny top. Weaver-style rings generally fit Picatinny, but check your rings' cross bolt against the rail slot width.
What is a riser for a red dot?
It lifts a small red dot to a height that lines up with iron sights or a comfortable cheek weld. TruGlo's universal red dot riser and Warne's Aimpoint riser are built for that.
Will a riser affect my zero?
Any time you change your mount, re-zero. A solid riser tightened to spec holds zero like any other mount.
