Quivers

A bow quiver should hold your arrows silently, protect your broadhead edges and stay out of the way of the shot. This shelf has bow quivers from 4 to 7 arrows, led by Tight Spot and G5 Head-Loc, plus crossbow quivers from Excalibur and Traditions. Choose by arrow count first, then by how it mounts.

Choosing a bow quiver by arrow count

The vendor names spell it out. The G5 Head-Loc comes in 4- and 6-arrow versions, Tight Spot in 5- and 7-arrow, and TruGlo Tuff-Loc and Bohning hold four. Fewer arrows means less weight hanging off the riser and a slimmer profile in tight cover. More arrows makes sense on long sits or elk hunts where a follow-up matters.

Weight on one side of the bow pulls it out of level. If you hunt with the quiver attached, practice with it attached, and balance the setup with a side bar from our stabilizers.

Mounts, hoods and grippers

Three things decide whether a quiver works. The mount sets how close the quiver rides to the riser and whether it detaches quickly for a treestand hook. The hood has to swallow your broadheads completely, since fixed heads with wide cutting diameters take more room than folded mechanicals. The gripper has to hold your shaft diameter snugly; a gripper sized for standard shafts will not hold micro-diameter hunting arrows.

Tight Spot's lineup includes the Airlock, Rise Lite and Shift Lock, and Trophy Ridge offers the Hex Light. Compare mount details on each product page.

Crossbow quivers

Crossbow quivers usually mount to the stock or rail and are specific to the brand. Excalibur lists a 4-arrow quiver and a Rebolt quiver, and the Traditions XBR holds five. Confirm your model before ordering, and match the hood to the crossbow broadheads you shoot.

Keep the rest of the kit quiet

Rattles give you away, and a loose arrow clicking against a gripper is enough to turn a deer's head at 20 yards. Rubber grippers, tightened mount screws and a bow stabilizer that soaks up vibration all help. In the stand, hang the quiver on a bow holder or accessory hook near your treestand so you do not have to reach for it.

Quivers in blinds and on the move

Hunting from a ground blind changes the math. The quiver has to clear the window and the blind walls when you draw, so many blind hunters take it off and hang it within reach. Hunters who walk in on spot-and-stalk hunts usually leave it on and choose a slimmer model. Spare arrows that do not fit the quiver can ride in a tube on one of our hunting packs. Either way, check your arrow rest and fletching clearance once the quiver is mounted, since its weight can change how the bow sits at full draw.

Bow Quiver FAQs

How many arrows should my bow quiver hold?

Four to five covers most whitetail hunts. Six or seven is common for elk, turkey or long days where a follow-up shot or a miss is likely.

Will my quiver fit any bow?

Most bow quivers mount to the sight bracket or riser with standard hardware, but check the product page for mount type and shaft size.

Do I need a different quiver for a crossbow?

Yes. Crossbow quivers mount to the stock or rail and are usually brand specific, like the Excalibur and Traditions models here.
