A gun case earns its money on the drive and the boat ride, not in the safe. Road grit, rain, a UTV rack, and the tailgate of a truck do more damage to a shotgun over a season than any hunt does.
We stock soft cases for the daily haul, waterproof and floating cases for duck hunters, scoped rifle cases with room for the optic, and crossbow cases sized for the wider footprint.
Picking the right case
- Waterfowl. Water is the whole problem. The Avian-X Deluxe Floating Gun Case keeps a shotgun on the surface if it goes over the side, and the Ducks Unlimited Waterproof Shotgun Case handles rain and spray on the run out.
- Scoped rifles. Measure with the optic mounted. The Muddy 48" Scoped Rifle Case has the extra depth so the turrets are not pressed against the shell.

Sizing and storage
Measure your firearm muzzle to buttpad and add two inches. A 48-inch case swallows most bolt guns and standard shotguns, while a 52-inch case covers longer barrels and extended chokes. Never store a gun long-term in a zipped soft case. The lining holds moisture against the metal, which is the fastest way to find rust in the spring.
